Meet Jovanni Neblett-Blackmon, M.D.

Dr. Jovanni Neblett-Blackmon is a licensed, board-certified OB/GYN with 21 years of experience. She holds a bachelor of
science degree from Harvard University. She earned her M. D. from Temple University School of
Medicine and completed her residency at Mercer University in Macon, Georgia. Her interests include minimally invasive surgery, an area in which she has received numerous awards.

She served as a faculty member of Mercer University-Medical Center of Central Georgia before entering private practice.

She practiced privately in Pennsylvania 11 years before practicing abroad. Dr. Blackmon and her family
have lived in several countries from South Africa to Jordan, being medical volunteers and doing mission-
oriented work.

She has a husband and 2 wonderful children. In her free time, she enjoys traveling, reading, gardening,
and outdoor activities.

Specialized Lipedema Training Under Marcia Byrd, M.D.

Marcia Byrd, M.D. has been performing liposuction treaments for over 30 years. During her extensive experience, she has developed a specialized treatment process using (PAL) Power Assisted Liposuction and (WAL) Water Assisted Liposuction. For those with Lipedema, the distribution of painful fat deposits can be treated with a new liposuction technique called Vaser that can be used alone or in combination with the WAL and PAL techniques. It has proven to be quite successful in helping to reduce the symptoms associated with Lipedema. Dr. Byrd believes that VASER liposuction, in conjunction with WAL and PAL liposuction, may be an integral component of the solution.

Dr. Blackmon has been performing liposuction surgeries for over 10 years and has been quite successful in helping patients achieve their goals. When she joined Lipedema Surgery Center, she was eager to learn more from Dr. Byrd and her specialized way of treating lipedema patients. Dr. Byrd is known all over the world for her successful surgeries using her own specially developed technique. Dr. Blackmon now uses this surgical process and is successfully performing lipedema surgeries.
